From what I see at http://mp.dev.hu/DOCS/encoding.html it makes difference
since there is clear distinction in subjects between section 7.1 and 7.2. How
file is named (with .avi or with .mpeg extension) with '-o' option is user
problem but for sure you can't use DIVX in MPEG1 file format.

There is also another reason for clear distinction. Imagine other user after
two months want to refer in his post to your animation. He will spend a lot of
time searching in povray.binaries.animations because it is group supposed to
contain animations. But he will fail.

Some Windows users rapidly posts BMPs because this is 'native' file format.
BMP can be large.
