Anybody have any wisdom on how to create completely new Poser figures?
Specifically I'm trying to create a robot (a bit like a transformer sort of
thing).
Sure I'll get there in the end but its a bit fiddly (poser 4 by the way).

You will have to use an external application to create the base figure.
Free ones that come to mind are Blender and Wings. The model will have
to be broken into parts such as arm, fingers, head, neck, etc. Also you
will have to create a CR2 file that tells Poser how the mesh is rigged.
There is a simple example on the Poser 4 manual on how to create a
robot-like figure including the CR2 editing.
You may also want to go to www.renderosity.com and ask in the Poser
forum. Many people have created models from scratch there and may give
you pointers.
good luck,

Grouping is the key to the equation. Take a good look at figures already in
Poser and see how it's done. Follow the way they are done: rShldr,
rForearm, etc. If you have P4 ProPack, the setup room is great, just use a
pre-existing figure and away you go. If not, I'm sure you can email the
geometry and someone will rig it for you.
