Thanks. I almost never buy a game that doesn't have a demo level
available for me to try out. Graphics cards are so complex these days
most of the time I can't even figure out if my card is described or not. :-)

Ah yes, I've seen demos when it was first coming out. Could be
interesting. The idea of having to actually practice at a game to get
better stats in-game was kind of off-putting to me. If I wanted to
*work* at getting better at archery, I'd be out in the back yard. :-)

Perhaps that might help you also:

I'm not sure, if I could talk of an awesome storyline, but the scenery is such
beautiful and all things you can do... that's awesome! :-)

And the best way, there are a lots of side quests , which provides you with a
lot of weapons, scrolls... you don't have to follow the main quest first...
just enjoy the environment... (and collect herbs, go hunting, fishing,
diving...). You can join some guilds and work your way up to their master.
(There are very good mods, which give you quests, when you acchieve the master
title.)
I also prefer Morrowind. I can't describe it very well, but it was "more alive",
also when people in Oblivion look more like real persons and got individual
behaviours.

But it has a wonderful magical world, which is quite strange and because of that
fascinating. (I missed that in Oblivion, which is only a kind of MA surroundings
(except Shivering Isles addon, of course, which isn't very big). When you find
it, you should buy the GOTY Morrowind package, which includes Bloodmoon and
Tribunal.
Which mods do you think of?

And I thought the opposite. :-D
Something like: It's time to say goodbye and go to bed. ^^

There is a trick, so you can do other things, while your character is improving
its stats.
It's not really cheating, but who wants to sit there in front of the computer
waiting for the character to level up? :-D
I let my "tamagotchi" improve its skills by pressing the button and clamped it.
(but that only works for walking or defensive magic)
Ok it's almost the same as cheating...

Mainly one to fix the leveling of creatures and treasure to fit your level.
I want to occationally have to flee a dungeon because I got in over my head.
I want to, at level 50, find some novice bandits and be able to obliterate
them without a thought. I want the chance of finding treasure far more
powerful than anything I have now, even if it highly guarded.

The one I used is Oscuros Oblivion Overhaul and it worked wonderfully. You
do have to start the game from scratch with it active

Oh, that sounds good.
"I" often travel with an activated invisibility spell to avoid annoying
meetings.

Because it wouldn't work instead or just as there are much more treasures to
find?
I haven't finished many steps in the main quest (only coming first time to cloud
ruler temple) but I've already finished all non-guild side-quests - I think. It
would be bad if I had to start from the very beginning...

It doesn't work properly if the game's not started with it. Something about
info written into the character file. Dunno the details.
Google should turn up a lot of details about the mod.

That looks pretty sweet. I had to go through a dozen screen shots before
I found a place the texture was obviously repeating. :-)

I'll have to look into that too.
