Well, yeah, but the idea is still nice. The one that they used to carry
was a resin-embedded model, much harder than wood alone. You could cause
some *serious* damage with it.

We've got a mortar & pestle that weighs a bit. Of course, the cast iron
skillet also works if you can get a good swing with it.

LOL!
Given that they do know their weapons, though, I'm OK with the odd usage/
grammar error here and there. ;-)

I was puzzled over their reason why Saxons used the staff. It was because
swords were expensive, they'd been in common use pre-Norman. As for bows
since 12xx every male adult had to own a bow and since 13xx had to
practice with it.
But still if they know their chappes from their quillions who cares?

Well, I have to admit that I'm partial to the swords - maybe not the
history, but the folks who forge the blades are the real craftsmen.

You're not kidding. As a metal worker myself, I appreciate their
skill. I couldn't do what they do.

I absolutely would love a real forged Katana (actually, all three in the
set would be ideal). I have a real weakness for the curve in the
blade....

Ah, the hammering, the hammering. I would imagine a complete Katana set
would need a small arrangement with the bank... ;)
