I've wondered a few times.

Maybe he accidentally got deleted?

Yeah, kinda sad when all you know about a person is a usenet alias that
simply vanishes one day. In such occasions I like to entertain myself
thinking the guy has just got something better to do in life than
exchange thoughts with total strangers behind other aliases. ;)

Altho it's kind of weird. I set up a facebook account to write a program to
interface with something else I was doing for work. I keep getting friend
requests from people I knew 15 years ago, via chains of friends who were on
mailing lists I was on 10 years ago. Small world.

I keep thinking to myself that if I died, almost nobody would actually
know about it. They'd just assume I'd stopped going online. There are so
few people who actually know me IRL... :-(

If you ever stopped posting, nobody here would assume you just stopped
going online. We'd all be seriously worried ;)

Speaking of long lost newsgroupies, I can think of quite a few others I
don't see around here anymore.

Yeah, but you'd never actually know what happened. You wouldn't know if
I lost my job and had to sell my PC, or whether I was killed by giant
millipedes.

The last I remember of Ken is he bought a new camera and disappeared into the
hills to play with it.

If you'd lost your job, you'd probably have a month or two notice time.
By that time your PC would become so obsolete that selling it would make
no good.
