Here's a random thing. There is one specific a colour that is *just* for 
girls. This colour is of course "pink".

Think about that for a moment. There's a particular segment of the 
visible spectrum that is especially resurved just for females. You walk 
into a room that's painted pink, you immediately think about girls. You 
see a set of pink baby clothes, you immediately think it's a baby girl.

Some people say things like "pink for a girl, blue for a boy". And 
certainly, if a boy wears blue, nobody thinks anything of it. But girls 
can wear blue too. Indeed, it seems that girls can wear *any* possible 
colour. But boys can't wear pink. That's resurved just for girls. So 
girls can wear any colour, boys can wear any colour except pink.

(I have no idea if this applies to other cultures around the world. I 
would hypothesize that it does not.)

I think we need to reserve a specific colour just for boys. I don't know 
*which* colour, but I think there should be a specific boy colour that 
girls can't use. Suggestions, people?

Same goes for clothing.  Girls can wear guys clothing, no problem, but guys 
don't get to wear frilly dresses without being ostracized.

If feminism is about giving women equal footing with men, where's the 
masculism for giving men equal footing with women?

Yeah, I noticed that... Girl dressed up like a boy = cute. Boy dressed 
up like a girl = sum ting wong.

I think just once before I die, I'd like to dress up like a lady. No 
particular reason. Maybe it's like Keith Flint once said, "paint 
yourself purple. Walk down the street. **** a few people off."

I read somewhere (scopes, perhaps?) that this was actually the opposite just 
maybe a hundred years ago. Cultures change.

Black and blue.  Nobody blinks if a boychild comes home with brusies from 
playing. :-)

  Btw, there are situations where pink clothing on a man actually doesn't
look odd, but surprisingly natural. For example one of the characters in
CSI:Miami ofter wears pink shirts, and it doesn't look odd:

As long as someone notices. Take it all the way and really look like
girl, no-one will realize :p.

I promised to be a hostess at my moving-in party, so I did :p. It was
actually pretty fun, even though having high heels all the day was kind
of weird for feet (and yes, I trained for them.. you just have to). I
had black, straight skirt, pink sleeveless top, a black bleizer,
skin-colored pantyhose and as I said, high heels. And makeup and some
jewellery, too - I looked somewhat like a business lady. The clothes
were surprisingly comfy and I occationally tend to wear a skirt at home
(actually wearing one right now). Try it if you dare, it can be fun :).
Find a girlfriend and let her help ;).

Woah... o_O

Oh, wait a sec - this is teh interwebz. I should have known somebody 
stranger than me would have done this already. ;-)

The part I'm wondering is... how do you go into a shop and try on a 
bunch of women's clothes without getting *really* weird looks from the 
other people in the shop?
