As I understand it, pants = underpants, while trousers = pants.

well, to scare andrew a bit, i did get a couple pairs of boxers. a year 
can't pass without getting socks or underwear as a gift.

Actually I tell a lie I got a electronic tyre pressure gauge from my  
mother who saw them cheap in Woolies and a box of chocs of our insurance  
company.
