Which version of povray are you trying to install ?
If it is the 3.6 in Linux Binary format (povlinux-3.6.tgz),
you might need to install the ia32-libs (and ia32-libs-multiarch:i386)
Usual installation on Linux is best done via sources.
And x86 is 32 bits, x86_64 is 64 bits... the instruction set is not the
same, nor are the system libraries (hence the need for ia32-libs)
Dump/copy-paste of command line and replies might have helped.
