Hello;

I, and some students, have been working on an application of a middleware layer
(called "cogito") to create a new way of interacting with POV-Ray - particularly
in exploring and refining images.
I've posted a youtube video that illustrates some of the key benefits that we
see with this approach. Here's the URL:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOJFM-FOJVg

I'd appreciate any feedback, questions, comments, etc. - either here
or to my e-mail.

Best regards,
Daryl

Is Winpov being launched each time a new render is performed? Winpov
supports extensions in such way that povray can be started just once and
kept running in the background, and this one instance can be used to
render as many scenes as necessary. For example Moray does this. It could
be a much handier way of doing this.

Thanks very much for your comment.
Yes, we launched it for each new render. We'll follow your suggestion as
we move forward with this. Any thoughts about whether this kind of
interaction could be helpful in your use of POV-Ray?

Best regards,
Daryl

I really like the concept - when you see/pick a particular variation you
like, how to you access the code for that specific one? And how much of
POV's code to you expect to implement - isosurfaces, for example?
best.
