After rendering many scene files, I find the stats very interesting.
Example: a camera, 1 light source, and 1 box.
When the box takes up all of the screen, the ray-shape intersection test
succeeds only 50% of the time. The ray intersects the box twice, one going
in, and one going out of the box ? Box fully in front of the camera.
Has anyone made a list of some insightfull hints on what the entries of the
statistics stream mean?

The ray intersects box and gives intersection point. Then from intersection
point new ray is sended to the light_source to check shadow appearance. And it
not intersects anything. For two rays you have one intersection. It gives 50%.
