Does anyone know where to find "weed.inc"? I saw a link once on the pov
site, but now I can't locate it. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I'm still pretty new to PovRay(only a few months now), but I miss
the "glow" support for lighting that was in earlier versions. Will this
ever come back?
Also-2, Has anyone ever thought of creating a "perspective
overview"(thats what I would call it anyway), that would show all your
objects relative to each other in the pov universe? That would greatly
simplify things for us newbies who can't find our objects....LOL. This
could be just a small window thats optional for use. It could just use
color coded dots or something relating to objects, camera, lights, etc.
Just a thought.
Les

There are a few plant generation macros on this server in the
povray.binaries.scene-files and povray.text.scene-files groups, and you
could probably find something on the POV-Ray links page:

No official version has ever supported a "glow" effect, the closest
thing would be halo, which has been replaced with media. You might be
thinking of the glow patch, which was written for an older version
(3.0.x?) and part of POV-AFX (atmospheric effects). I updated and
heavily modified that patch for MegaPOV:

However, it is very incomplete, and won't be included in POV 3.5, I
suggest you use media.

It sounds like you're speaking of a preview mode...this has been
discussed, but would require lots of modifications and would be
difficult to make platform independant.

Christopher,
Thanks for all the info. Micha Riser: Author of the Weed file saw my
post on another group and let me know where to get it.
As for the preview mode, that's just something I would have on my wish
list. Usually I don't have problems finding my objects but there's
always that one file that drives me nuts....LOL
Thanks again,
Les

Hi, Can I suggest reading povray.announce.frequently-asked-questions group ? In
case of sending the same question to many groups please focus on
