What are NURBS? Everyone seems to want them, so I guess it's something good.
But what?! :-)

Non uniform rational b-splines.

See lightning3D tutorial for a short explanation.

I don't know WHAT they are, but they are very cool. Learn be experimentation...
try the Rhino modeller demo at www.rhino.com

In practical terms, you can use them to do stuff normally done by bezier
patches, but better, and nicer. Wheeee!

If you're a student, you can get an educational copy for 195$, if you present a valid
ID with your order...

That's what I'm going to do.. I've fallen in love with Rhino now... Wheee!

If you're not a student, you can crack the demo until you've saved enough money to pay
the hard-working programmers. =)

You must have a really long mouse pad.

It bites, there's no sound! Ya' my computer decided to ditch
all it's drivers; video drivers I recovered, mouse I recovered
(that's o.k. I needed to learn how the short-cuts work!), Sound
I haven't recovered! Which is of particular interest to me since
I run Cakewalk Pro Audio 8.04 for digital audio multitracking. I
am NOT amused with the situation!
Actually I did spot my future date problem but I forgot about
the post here. sorry. I've canceled the post...

My apologies if someone has already answered this. The term is an acronym which
refers to Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline. It allows for modeling of organic objects
using curved surfaces. They have been employed quite well in the modeler for
Lightwave 3D and other modelers as well.
