Can someone help me with SMPov? Installation et al? I've got a multi-core
computer, and I'm using Moray 3.5, and I thought that if I'm forced to use
POV-Ray 3.5 (in order to render directly from Moray), maybe I can at least give
it a boost by using the SMPov plug-in.

Is this thinking flawed? I dunno, that's why I'm asking for help. :)

Oh, by the way, I'm using Windows Vista, if that matters. Therefore I
understand some of the limitations and problems I'm likely to encounter in all
of this. Yeeghhh.

I have not used SMPOV for quite a while.
Also I did not do major new revisions of SMPOV for years now,
therefore I was not sure if it will work as it is.

Now today i had the chance to use it with my new Quad-Core Computer.

And the newest Windows Vista-64 and the 64 Bit POV-Ray 3.6 Binary.
UAC switched off. SMPOV run "as Admin", RenderAgent "run as Admin" also.

Does it work?
Yes, it still works!

But there is a issue with small resolution Output!

The original PicPender does not work properly with Vista64 on my system.
Therefore it is needed, to always use the CPU-PicPender (PicPender #2).

This is done automatically, by rendering pictures larger then the number in the
private.ini, which is by default 4096. It can be changed to 2096, then all
pictures with an resolution X>2096 will use the CPU-Picture-Appender.

Using the CPU-PicPender, its highly recommended to only use "vertical tiling".
Then its lightning fast to have the final image!
Using "horzontal tiling" will slow down the process of appending large pictures.

Anyway - its still working, and if someone has problems, just drop me a mail.
