I have to fight back a little bit!

Yes, but instead of repeating what the others said, you could have told
us how this option is called. Is my guess, that the ini
option "Work_Threads" does the trick, correct? Is there an option in
the menus of the windows version?
Simply saying "there is an option for that" does not count!
Also, when crying out "RTFM" you could at least provide a link to the
manual in question. You could provide a link to documents that explain
the things that he misunderstands.
Greetings

It does because he is using a beta version. And that feature actually has
been discussed before in the appropriate newsgroup. It is neither new nor
hidden, it is in the release notes somewhere! Beta users can at least be
expected to read those, I guess...

Yes I have to apologise. Indeed, if someone uses a beta version one can
expect that he reads the release notes and searches the newsgroups. (And
asks beta-questions in povray.beta-test.)
You are right Thorsten and I will keep my mouth closed now ...

- Sir, we just finished preparing mining equipment in the other 3 gold mines
you own. Now you will get x4 more gold! :)
- Cool.. but wait, now my all gold mines will be used at 100%? Nooooooo!
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? *waah* *waaaaah*

POV-Ray 3.7 have been made from the ground up to be able to exploit every and
all CPUs and cores available. It's one of the main object of the current
devlopment: to be able to harnest the full power of todays multicore CPUs.
So, it's use of all 4 cores at 100% is perfectly normal and working as intended.

If your processor isn't ever pegged at 100%, you should have bought a
slower (and less expensive) processor.

That doesn't look normal to me... It doesn't look anything like the cross
product of two coplanar vectors!
