It's got ot be a windows thing with the POV 3.6.
On the win98, POV froze up after those two
'POV-RAY is creating another process.'
messages.I had to hit 'Ctrl Alt Delete' to close it.

Same problem I fixed 'temp' fashion by commenting out this line;
buffer_message (mIDE, "POV-Ray is creating another process\n") ;
//wrapped_printf (" %s", s) ;
Reason: During update of message windows, a critical code section causes thread
deadlock.
This is not a fix - but identifies the problem.
Not noticed any bug report in .bugreports - thought someone was going to.
