Still, it should be remembered that the last time people got really excited
(around the US presidential elections) and shouting insults at each other in
p.o.t. (remember the "dimocrats") one of the most vocal participants had to
be banned and the group was shut down for some time. Really, this isn't good
for the POV-Ray community.
In the light of these past events, and in this particular case, taking some
pre-emptive action wouldn't be a bad idea, and I did advocate a similar
measure (a limit on the number of posts somebody can post per 24 hours) at
that time. Right now, p.o.t is already being hijacked by Iraq-related posts,
people are insulting each other's mother, and the friggin' war hasn't even
started...

I am not "OK" with that. I agree with BDW on certain issues but disagree with
him on many more. We do share a fiercely nationalistic pride and for that
reason we happen to agree on the basic tenets of freedom, liberty, free
speech, the freedom to own and bear arms and have a basic mistrust of the
abilities of America's Democrat politicians. You could reasonably argue
that we are politically aligned but stray from that topic and he is a total
pinhead, IMHO.

...at this point, a motion was made to move it to O-T. :P

    So's your mom.

But on an aside, do you notice that those who support continued
appeasement of SH are also the ones who want to limit the speech of others?

Geez, all we need now is Matt Giwer.

Can we *please* relocate this discussion somewhere else?
Looks like the p.o.t. syndrome is spreading.

If you want to have your attempted insults read in a particular group
instead of this one, it would be to your advantage to post them to that
group instead of to this one.

No insult intended; I just think that this thread has nothing
to do with povray.general, so should be moved elsewhere.

The Giwer reference was intended to indicate that the thread
seems to have descended to namecalling and personalities
(a hallmark of comp.graphics.rendering.raytracing when he's
on board). Hopefully this can be headed off before povray.general
becomes a wasteland.

Then you should have moved it. But you didn't. Why?

Do you know what "set your follow ups" means?

If you really wanted this thread in another group, you would have done
something about it yourself. But the truth is, you want -your- message read
on this group.

It's just -my- messages you don't want read.

No... Try to reply to this my message and see what happens.

(Follow-ups to p.o-t)
