You can count me as a 'probably' - I was going to suggest Cambridge, but
Nottingham's good - it'll give me a chance to get back home to some good ol'
hills too (yup, 'nother, originally from t', Midlands POVer! - Coventry(ish)
this time (don't even think about mentioning footy)).

I've been to Coventry along the canal, and that was probably the first time
ever that I'd seen Kentucky fried chicken.

Is Jimmy Hill still Coventry's manager? Oh no! Is Jimmy Hill your dad?

I make it seven now (without looking through the thread, and counting on my
fingers).

I've never been in that area of England,
- so I'll try to find time and money to come too.

Looking forward to seeing you there Tor, and anyone else
from Scandinavia or .dk, .nl, .fr, .de or .be who can make
the trip.

I ain't. I'm a Yank. I was stationed at RAF Croughton for three
years. I spent a few weekends in Nottingham. There's one pub there, I
forget the name, which is suit-and-tie downstairs and scruffy punk-and-
biker upstairs (where the pool tables are). If memory serves, an
old brick building belonging to the Theosophical Society is just down
the street from there, and one of the nearby streets is Maid Marion
Way.

Wait, I think I remember: The Salutation. Is this right?

Regards,
John

I won't be there, but:

If you go to the pub named (IIRC) Ye Olde Salutation, I will be
greatly envious.

If the Pizzaland chain and the Portland hotel are still in operation,
you can enjoy the same kind of weekend I used to when I spent time
in Notty.

John
