I'm as desperate, as I'm stupid :

Can't find the renderered image's location.
Or means to set or select it either.

It goes to the directory (folder) where the pov file is at unless otherwise
specified. And to keep putting the renderings into a certain location you
should add the line Output_File_Name=c:\images\ (for example) in the
povray.ini file. You can edit that from the Windows version's Tools menu; or
from the "renderer" subfolder, where it resides.

You might also want to select a file type to default to of your own choosing
and to do so you'd also add the line Output_File_Type=? where ? is replaced
by S for system default (bmp on DOS/Windows machines), T for Targa, N for
Portable Network Graphics (png), etc.

Using POV-Ray 3.5 for Windows I presume?
The image is in the same folder as the scene file.
I've added the following lines in my POVRAY.INI [Tools - Edit master
POVRAY.INI]

; Output file type is PNG
Output_File_Type=N
; Output file name/directory
Output_File_Name=x:\povray\render\

That way the images are saved as PNG images in x:\povray\render which is
the method I prefer.

Good luck!

If you had paid attention during the install, you wouldn't have this
problem...

DAMN IT THORSTEN! GROW UP!!!

If don't have something nice to say, then don't say anything at all.
Others have already posted helpful information. Dan Farmer never treated a
newbie this way.

Why is providing a solution not nice and not helpful? Reinstalling and paying
attention will solve the problem!

I am not Dan Farmer, am I? And back then there wasn't Google either:
