This group is great!
Twice in the last two days, I started to write up a request for help.
As I cleaned up the code to show just the problem I was having, I found
my mistake.
I couldn't have done it without you guys!!

This is rather common in programming. I have heard stories about someone
going to a co-worker and saying something like "hi, could you help me with
this code? There's a bug somewhere and I can't find it. What I'm doing
here is this and this and, ok thanks. Bye."

I use this tool often. I have some rather intractable problem, talk to a
totally in-the-dark person about it, and often solve it in short order.
I also used to walk around going through the steps out loud, but being a
robotics hobbyist, I have found a solution to the odd looks people give you when
they walk by and see you expounding in detail about something when their is
nobody present- I have a big robot in the workshop that sits patiently and does
nothing.
People assume I am talking to the robot.

I've come up to the best possible solutions for coding problems and
situations like that mostly while I was taking a hot bath! Today it happened
again. I'm not kidding here!

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I've only actually posted two questions, out of
the 15-20 I've started.
I just assumed it was because whoever wrote the forum software infused it
with all the masterful brilliance of all the artists and programmers who
would someday use it. (A trick they undoubtedly figured out from asking a
question on a forum while taking a hot bath...)
RG - whoever said the hand is quicker than the eye obviously never saw me
typing...
