This may have been done before.. and I may actually know how to do this..
but I thought I would ask anyway.. :)

Here is the question.. I have a wall, and a Slightly open door.. As well
there is a difference so there is a whole in the wall where the door is..

What I want to do .. is get a GLOW comming out from behind the door.. Not
just light shinnign through.. fuzzy glow.. IS there a way to LOCALY have
media in just this little area.. should I use a "Looks_like" light source..

how about posting this question 10 more times, from diffrent emails ?

if I understand question - put bright media behind doors, or maybe while 
wall with ambient 10 or 100 and readiosity

I would just use a fully transparent container for the media - you can scale
and shape it the way you want. Fill it either with emitting media (if you
want it really to glow) or scattering media (if you just want the light of
the light_source to be visible in your room).

I don't think that "looks_like" will help you in this task, I'm not sure
though.

The light will not interact with the media if you use emitting media. It's
like using ambient in your textures - it glows by itself but does not effect
other object unless you use radiosity. The light source should be placed
behind you door to actually light the scene. The media is just for the
glowing effect.
I'm not sure if a cube will do what you want - I would expect some other
shape when light shines through an open door. Perhaps if you shear (see
shear_trans in transforms.inc) it or you use a conical pattern for the
media-density ...

You might find the posting "Missing glows in 3.5? An alternative solution"
from Warp in povray.text.scene-files (dated Sept 14th 2001) interesting.

Hmmmm. Interupting here... Okay, but if you do that you'll need cubic_wave
form for the box shape your media is in. That is, if you are wanting a
squared off glow. Might prove difficult to impossible, depending on how you
intend to have a light source shine through that doorway. You know, getting
it aligned. Would probably mean some shearing to do it.
