Of course, and you did it whilst wearing soft house slippers rather than
hobnailed boots, too :)

Jamie.

Hmmm.... perhaps not? Is nice to have a lisence that confuses stupid
people: that prevents them from using POV-Ray and haging here with even
more stupid questions. Nice, isn't? :)

I hope chris has reworded it, so as to prevent another rip-off like
"win-render 2000" from Wingear.

They were selling Pov as their own thing, but when you load the disk, you
discover it's pov.

I looked to see if I had been mentioned in the /. threads but couldn't see
anything....

Yes, if you read the 3.5 license, it requires distributors to provide a full
snail mail address for us to contact them. That way it will be easier to
either stop them or their distributors from doing such a thing.

That's all fine and dandy, but what happens when someone "forgets" to
put a snailmail address? How exactly do you go about finding them?

Well, in that case we have the distributor who is selling software that
breaks the law by selling illegal copies of the software. In the USA the
DMCA will take care of the rest.

Not to mention regular and simple license violations are serious business in
nearly all countries as well, even without something like the DMCA...
