It's not like you have to pay for the upgrade you know!
This is what happens when people deal with microsoft too long. :)

No, but everytime I do an upgrade, I have to spend time getting
everything back the way I like it. I accidentally lost my insert menu on the
first beta re-install.

Not that I am complaining, I can get by with MegaPov most of the time
and I appreciate the work done on 3.5, but I can't pretend that frequent
upgrades are effortless either. If the upgrades were only patches for the
files that really needed to be changed, it would be a little nicer.

It's a beta version. By using it, you are just participating in the
beta testing. You should know that it evolves rapidly and new betas come
out every once and then.

I agree, it's irritating setting everything back up. Export/import
settings or just leave the ini files alone when it installs would be nice.

Exactly. Providing an "upgrade" package as well as a full install would
be very nice, indeed.

However, I understand that the POV-Team has better things to do that
search for every modified file since the last package build, and that
our having to re-modify various .ini files to our liking is probaly best
at this point.

So you're not using it, so you're not participating in the beta. The fact
that only a handful of people have a Unix version of POV doesn't make Warp's
statement wrong.

Previous (current) version went to letter "g" after 3.1. It changed even after
final release. I'm sure team not allow us to work with wrong version too long.
