Hi,
I got FREE ADSL service by some lucky chance. Now - what do I do with
it? What's the best thing to do with 30kbps+?

30kbps? I'd say the first thing to do is buy a modem. :)
Oh, you meant 30kBps...
In that case, browse the IRTC archives like you always wished you
could. That's what I did when I first got my (95kBps+) ADSL.

Go see a movie.
Seriously, the most useful thing I've found for high-speed access is
downloading movie trailers a few minutes before leaving for the theater
:*)
http://www.apple.com/trailers/ always has lots of them. I recommend the
maximum size "Lord of the Rings" and Monsters.inc.

Well you could start by d/ling all the different distros of linux, put
each onto a CD, and mess around with your machine untill you find the
right distro for you.

Once you have found the linux distro that you like use all of that
extra speed searching the net in vain for software that will run
under linux and is worth owning.

What, pray tell? Other than TereTerm to make an ssh connection to my Linux
box, that is?
