say you have something set, like global settings, a camera, radiosity, a
light, or what ever in various includes and in your main pov file. 
which take precedence?  the last included? do any add to previous ones? 
or does the last over write?

Includes are just inserted into the scene at the point they are referenced,
so it depends on where you include them.  The last settings in the scene are
used unless they can't be overwritten.

which can and can't be overwritten.  i'm thinking it would be nice if we
could 'add' global settings rather than overwrite them.  say for
example, an include file needs a setting that i don't usually use in my
global settings.  that include file should be able to add it to the mix
overwriting that one but without deleting the rest.

That's how it works with global_settings.  Try it.

Cameras are different because when you create one, a set of default settings are
created for it.  Global_settings already exists, so you are editing the one and
only version of it.

i see.  how about radiosity.  it is inside global settings, so is it
added to?
