On several occasions I looked angry at the boulanger when I understood he
wanted douze francs for the baguette, instead of deux. He realy meant
deux.

Maybe because it's a lot more effort ;-)

So 'we' created the Netherlands.

Tres bien and understandable mon ami, but still, getting a dictionary would
be a good idea, if you don't have one. And, remember, that were all friends
here. I'm trying to help you avoid future embarrasment. :)

That's what I hate about this whole Internet thing. It's so hard to transmit
a friendly tone in what one writes. Not everything merits a smiley. I was
merely trying to help, and was in a hurry to go to university at the time,
so you'll forgive me if I was a bit blunt and to the point.

PS: No, I wouldn't criticize the Pope, just like I didn't criticize Gibus. I
would bring the error to his attention, but I wouldn't criticize.

Hi, Tony. It's spelled 'embarrasSment'. I normally would have ignored
something this trivial but I guess you'd want someone to let you know,
right? :)

  Any followups to p.off-topic, please.

I make the effort when I am posting the French news groups but I
admit that is not very often.

This I doubt... after all, His Highness will be speaking Italian most
of the time and you probably know zilch about it :)
