If anyone can remember as far back as PC Format issue 28 (don't know why
I remember that number), that issue has an old version of povray on the
magdisk, along with the scene file for Mike Millers Jack Coaster scene,
which was also on the cover.
It is that magazine that got me into raytracing :)
I'd like to render that scene, just for the hell of it. Problem is, I
appear to have lost the contents of the magdisk (I thought I moved it to
a CD but I can't find it anywhere).
Does anyone, perchance, have that scene file? Or does anyone know Mike
Miller's email? :)
Mick.

Sorry to say that the quick search I did through old versions of POV-Ray
(1.0, 2.0, 2.2) didn't come up with anything. Maybe because it was not one
included into the scene files of those?
703### [at] compuservecom for an email adress was dated around 1994 I guess.

I have two "Jack" scenes. One is an original of Mike Millers called Jack6
which is the image of Jack in a box with snails and a magic lamp. The second
is called jackodat which is based on Mike's work and features Jack and
a Jack-O-Lantern. I have never rendered this last one and do know what
it contains. You should be aware they are based on either DKBTrace or
an early version of POV-Ray v1.0 or maybe earlier and will require some
serious reformating to use with any newer version of POV-Ray.
If you want these files let me know.

I remember it, too, but was unsure I still had the disk stashed away
somewhere.
Well, it took more than a few minutes of searching - but I found it!
I've uploaded the scene to p.b.s.

No longer a valid address, Bob. The POV-Team lost contact with Mike Miller
several years ago (prior to 1996). Even former POV-Team members do not have
Mike's current e-mail address or know of any means to reach him. As far as
we can tell, he is no longer involved with POV-Ray and has dropped from
sight. We can only hope that this is by Mike's choice and that he is okay.

Probably was so darned good he found work and needed to use other things
besides POV-Ray as well. Hoping the best anyhow, this gave me a chance to
look over some older rendering by several people. It is no less than
amazing what some people could do early on in POVs history.
