I am trying to find a model of a horse (either povray or
convertable to povray) to put the finishing touches on a
landscape animation (if the horse is animated, that's a
definite plus).

I have tried ftp and web searches and the closest I got was
a couple of horse heads (shades of the Godfather) in the
avalon ftp.

Can anybody out there point me in the right direction????
Please????

Got $95? http://www.flashfire.com/3Dmodels/Animals/horse1.htm

How about $99?
http://www.credo-interactive.com/products/powermoves/animania/horse.html
This ones good.

And on a humorous side to this:

Someone asking about scanning in a horses head.

Sorry, this is all I really found.

There is a zebra in of of Gilles Tran's pictures which is, as he says,
a horse model with a striped texture. Maybe you should contact him
directly and ask for help. Aside from that, I can't help you much, as
all of the models I found (a couple) were not free :(

I found the $95 model (I missed the $99 one, though) but I
was hoping for something in the price bracket of, say around
$0.

Thanks, anyway

Just how desparate are you :)

I have a horse model in .3ds format. It is made up of many parts so might
even be posable to a certain extent. The zip file is about 250k and the
actual .3ds file is nearly 500k in size. You can convert the file to .pov
files using 3DWin which will help you to keep the peices seperate instead
on one big mesh.

Let me know and I will email it to you.

The horse I used can be found there :
http://www.3dcafe.com/models/horse.zip
It's 410 K zipped in 3DS format. It may be the same as Ken's.

See the p.t.s-f. group for a reposting of this fixed. A few braces were out
of place.
