OK, now the spots in Finland are too far north, and the odd bloke from
halfway between Tallinn and Helsinki has decided to live in the latter :-)

Yeah, it's not perfect to be sure. At least I don't think so. Like we're
all the ones messed up instead or something? No, I'd have to say these
images never map exactly right. Whether it be POV-Ray at fault or the
image used isn't correct is anyones guess. The previous image I had used
was definately off, I had to actually add in a slice of longitude
(couple degrees or more) and maybe even a bit to the North or South pole
but I don't remember. The problem comes when trying to adjust for all
points on the globe you see. Were it a simple singular direction (scale)
it wouldn't be so tough; but if even a rescaling, or resizing rather, of
both latitude and longitude fails it's just never going to be right.
Well, never say never.
Anyhow so far it looks as if were I to move anything one way a lot of
points shift badly the other, and likewise for the other directions.
Could be a mapping type of problem but I don't see it that way yet.
Thanks for speaking up regardless, Antti A.

Agreed, MK should go into Room 101, I worked there for six weeks
and when I left vowed never to return.

There's a question mark next to my name for some reason,
(probably why I'm in the sea), (Wigan North West England).

I finally have Outlook Express 5 figured out enough to post replies so
I'm posting here even though I have sent email already to you Steve.
Just so people know I am still here :)
For the curious, Steve had sent me his coordinates as numbers without
decimal places in the degree fields, no minutes. That was the
confusion. Not that it will correct anything probably because I think
I had guessed the correct numbers anyway from what he gave me.

Bob I'll check it out and get back to you soon. Sorry to see
you've turned to MS why? Netscape does it all, or even agent.

Odd IE tendancies I suppose ;)
Netscape was fine actually, I just wanted to try to update this Win
system with the IE5 stuff and gave Outlook a whirl. It really does
have a few good points and does seem a bit faster as per
advertisement.

Faster in what regard ?

Um, maybe faster in corrupting your data? Or faster since it ignores
most of the RFC's and standards and just does what the MS engineers just
bothered checking for? Or faster as it does not even bother formatting
text properly for non-HTML and non-RTF posts? Or faster at spreading
macro viruses and trojans as it 'hides all the messy details from
users'? Or faster at mangling downloads as it completely ignores
MIME-types and does what the HTTP specs says explicitly NOT to do (RFC
1945 section 7.2.1)...
