The time POV-Ray used percentages are interesting.
Also the very few females, though the ages of them appear to vary much.
I guess I missed entering some of these stats, can't remember if I
submitted something just once or a second time too; probably been a
couple months ago in any case.
And gee, what a bunch of Windows users we are. Wasn't DOS a viable
answer?
Windows 3.1?? I feel sorry for you 2, whom-ever you are. j/k!
I used Win3.1 quite prolificly myself once upon a time. That's how I got
to know DOS better :)
In a way the stats seem pretty well rounded out to me.

I think that the last line should be better:
Other Unix variant: 1
Why? Because Linux, SunOS and FreeBSD are all unixes.

Yeah, I know, I realised that after I sent it... (especially after a friend
on ICQ read through it and yelled at me ;-)

I was surprised at just how few female POV users there are, or, rather,
how few female POV users that completed this survey there are.
It is a well known phenomenon in computing that there are few females in
the field, but I thought the situation with POV would be different - I
wonder what proportion of more 'traditional' artists are female ?

If you look at the number of art-students the majority is female.

In colleges here, there's a majority of women in CG. I know a
few of them and I never seem to get their attention when I talk about
the groups that I read and all I learn here. They don't doubt it ;
they're just indifferent. We can spend hours drawing side by side but
they really aren't loners.
Marshall McLuhan said that the media is the message : most
women just don't get that you can maintain a relationship with a group
of people you essentially don't know. And newsgroups are pretty much
just like that.

I haven't noticed many woman posting to thiese newsgroups,
maybe three or four. In my experience there are few women
involved in computers at all.
