The only good program I am aware is Poser and it's neither
freeware or shareware.

Although Poser 1.0 was on the December 1997 CD issue of PC Format. I
don't know if back issues come with CD's...?

There was that one called reflex I think, but it is not freeware
anymore. I don't know where it went.

Well, maybe this is a little off topic, but
wouldn't it be possible to make an include file
for POV-Ray that generates humans for stills and
animations?
There have been some nice csg humans in the irtc
sometimes, not always very realistic but I think
that's not so important.
A human.inc would be a bit different from .inc'es
such as explode, lens, and spline but wouldn't it
be possible?

Well Theresa Willis (twi### [at] soundnet) seemingly was working on
something along these lines - including .inc files for standard
poses/movements in late '96 to early '97 - but I've not seen anything
from here since then. A shame - I really ought to mail her and see if
she's done more as what she was doing looked highly useful.

A nice site, with a couple of interesting pics of humans, but am I
missing
some link to an .inc file? Or are you just showing some examples?
Confused

You'll find this link ... sometimes when the .inc file is ready.
And with documentation. Because without you will get much more confused.

Looks like it's just examples - unless I missed the link too :(
