It would not matter how many copies /variations of the original there were
it would simply add to the fun

In other words, it would be a thread in the newsgroup and you can only grab
the code after someone has re-posted it. Is that how it works???

Fun idea, but erm... it's probably going to be a terribly
cluttered image if everyone who gets his/her (though the
chance of 'her' is not all that big, right Ken?) hands on it
just throws something in... And something else: it will
cause people quite some frustration if they want to join the
game and every time they visit the newsgroup there's already
someone else working on the scene... I think multiple
threads would be a better idea.

Of course, we finally take the images, in order of completion, and make em
into a big animation... with stuff popping in in every frame :)

Maybe a stupid idea!

A thread one the news server where the players could queue.
This way the one holding the code knows who's next and mails it this
person.

The only problem I see is a very long thread maybe.

Um, it seems the original post has been removed... Anyone else have this
problem? It says the article has expired... Can someone post the original
message again so I can read what you're all talking about? (sounds like fun
whatever it is!)

Think you may need to do a little newsreader adjustment. Set it to
download messages back a month or so.

Look in povray.text.scene-files for the source.

My newsreader states that the original message was posted on 4/7/99 at 1:06
AM... I think that's the problem. David, is your computer time set correctly?

As a side... Since this date is in the future and is expired.. I wonder if that
will be the "horrendous crash" of the "Y2K" bug
