As i know, Max exports 3ds and dxf. Both are supported by 3DWin.

Yep, sure does. Just export to DXF from the File menu in MAX (I think
versions under 1.2 don't support it though...). Actually, now that I think
about it, use 3DS because the texture definitions convert correctly. DXF
just cuts the definitions for advanced texturing out. Of course the end
result will depend on whether or not the file format you want to convert it
to later has support for the texturing options.

Oh, that reminds me, I've got heaps of import/export geometry plug-ins for
MAX on my website. They're all freeware. I've also got heaps of image
import/export plug-ins as well as modifiers, spacewarps, motion controlers,
video post filters etc etc. I think there are about 200 there now. The DEM
importer is quite good too I might add. There are also a few Lightwave, and
Quake convertors. Hope it helps!

The address for my plug-ins page is:

I am looking for a direct *.max --> 3ds or anything 3dwin can handle. I
dont have MAX, just need a direct converter.

There is no max to xxx converter beside Max itself, sorry.
You should send your files to a Max user to convert it for you.
