Aha, so you were there. Has the speed record and the entry in the Top 500
Supercomputer list been confirmed?

    Thorsten

PS: I watched it via WDR Computerclub via RealVideo - the only way to watch German
television here in the USA.

Although you could render at 600 PPI (pixels per inch) for printing to a 600 DPI
(dots per inch) printer, you don't need to render more than 300 PPI. If
anything, the 300 PPI image will look better that the 600 PPI image when printed
to a 600 DPI color device. Plus the 300 PPI image will not take nearly as much
time to render! : )

Try rendering at 2475 x 3507 and compare the printed output to the 4960 x 7015
image.

By the way - the largest image I have ever rendered was 7200x7200 (150 megs) for
a fine art print on canvas. The final IRIS print was 36 x 36 inches. I only
used 200 pixels per inch. It looked great with no artifacting.
