Is it possible to use two different cameras in the same scene.

Possible scenario.

I want to use a cylindrical camera to warp the appearance
of a couple of objects. The rest of the scene I want eveything
else to appear normal as with a perspective camera. Is there a
method that will allow this to happen ?

Why don't you try to render the warped objects with alpha channel turned on
and merge the resulting image with the one generated with perspective
camera? Also, here's a trick I've done in the past (a little off-topic):
when I know how the objects are ordered by distance to the viewer. I render
each object { or group of objects} separately and then use Photoshop's
layers to compose them in a single picture. Useful for "3-D" pasting complex
images or just for some collageing.

Hope this helps.

Probably, you will have to fiddle around a lot, but you can modify the
normal of the camera. Section 7.4.3 of the POV-Ray documentation
mentions this. In theory it is therebye possible, but I don't know
anything about practice.

No, there can be only one camera in a given POV-scene.

Another idea:

Create a "warping lens" and put it in front of your camera.
It should be totally transparent (filter and transmit) and have no
reflection (etc.) at all.
Then give it the right IOR and the right shape to distort only those plaves
you want to distort.

Or create several such lenses, that only cover a specific part of the
viewing fustrum (e.g. the object you want to distort).

Hope it helps,
Johannes.
