Seems like a colossal waste of CPU. System is Sun Ultra10 workstation,
256M ram, Creator 3D Series III video, Solaris 2.5.1 and yes PovRay is
installed and tested. Since I'm not much of a povray person, I just
play with it, send me your .pov source and I'll render it for you 'cause
the box is doing nothing in particular over the next few days.

ps: I'm doing this because it seems like a waste to have that machine
just spinning its drive and running Conways game of life : )

I'm curious about a benchmark on it as well.

Just for information, could you post how many candidates you got? I
bet more than 10... Anyway, that is a nice thing. Really. I think I
would send you files, currently I spend too much time trying to get
PVM-POV running on the 600-MHz-each-8-CPU AlphaServer *and* my both
P-II-333-MHz in the same VM to be able to write scene files. And after
that, I think I won't need it any more.
No joking, promise.
Roland.
P.S: No, I'm not offering the same service. These computers are not
mine, but my company's. I even hesitate using them myself (half a
second each time).

And here I thought that spare cpu was rare. Guess not.
In any case, I'm still looking to benchmark it against a 'common' end-user
machine.

Sorry, I just got a bit excited... then I calmed down in dispare when I
realised I don't have any files to render at the moment :-(
