Not to ask pity or anything but I downloaded that thing at about 1K/sec. and the final
part failed I guess, around 4 hours after it began. I was using that eBot downloader
since the direct save failed me. Maybe it was wanting a connection when it finished
so
it could "install" and because I left it unattended the AOL idle-timed-out at the end
and thus left the zip file empty. Surprising to say the least.
That was actually my second attempt, the first time I foolishly thought I could
suspend
the download at the halfway point and lost it instead.

I downloaded here at work (< 4 minutes) and then asked someone to burn it in
onto a CD so that I could install it at home - haven't had time yet. So
I've used some of my lunch breaks to try it out.

Normally on like to point out the good things, but this one bad thing stands
out - each time I start the application, it wants to connect to the 3d.com
web-site - which is painfully slow - so I am required to sit and wait for it
to connect before I can close the window making the connection. Otherwise
it looks like a nice modeller/animation system.

It allows you to export a shape to a DXF file. Using Crossroads, that
can be converted to a POV file (a gargantuan mesh).

Odd. For me it opens a silly little 3D.Com window upon startup, but it
doesn't
attempt an internet connection.
Perhaps it wants you to register? Or did you register it already?

Oh. Thanks. Well, DXF is alright enough. Now if I can convince myself to go through
another 5 (yes, mistake about it being 4) hours of download time.

How do you register it? I tried installing it at home
(where I don't have an internet access), but it asks for the
cd and registration information... :(

Hmmm, I don't remember. Seems that it prompted me
immediately after installation, and I registered through the
web and an e-mail was sent to me with the registration number.
Not sure, now. :-?
