Or to anything else in POV. Preferably VRML 2. I've tried the
search, found one free one that didn't work and several as part
of packages for $500 and way up. My purpose is to convert CAPOW
surfaces. And if anyone has done it please post how to do it so I
can see what I am doing wrong.

Hmmm, suppose wrl files to dxf then to pov would be okay...
Think Crossroads by Keith Rule did this, or something of that sort of
conversioning. A couple URLs anyway:
http://kb.hitl.washington.edu/converters.html
Bob Crispen who posts here at news:povray has a web page full of stuff to
check: http://hiwaay.net/~crispen/vrml/convert.html

Although, I haven't used the CAPOW modeller, I did take a look a the
list of features. Apparently saving the image display (2D) to the clip
board is possible. If it is, your problem is solved right there!

Alternatively, if you wish to stick to the CAPOW -> VRML -> POV route,
I'd suggest GLview based at http://www.snafu.de/~hg/. It exports to pov.

That is about what I found. Maybe someone needs to stick my
pointer in it. ;)

Croasroads ia the only one that comes close but is way out of
date VRML 1 and POV 2.2

I am trying to get from a VRML surface to the POV heightfield
surface. They all seem to want to take me the other direction.
