Hi all,

For the fun, I revisited the shipped-in 'subsurface.pov' scene. No sky_sphere,
floor is pure white (in order to check radiosity), light is situated at the
wick.

Wanted to share.

Bruno

Thanks for doing so :)

Don't know about you, but I really like it.

Hi Christoph !

I used to POV a lot years and years ago. I was never very far from the
community. During the past years, I saw your personal involvement and the
fantastic work you performed for 3.7. Among others, I worked on cloudscapes and
issued a (unfinished ...) tutorial here. I also had an ambitious project :
TerraPOV, some kind of terrain generator, for which I focussed on realistic sky
and clouds. I also produced entries in the early TinaChep competition.

One day, I almost lost all my work and real life constraints (and age ...) took
me away from POVing serioulsy. So, I put this project in a stand-by state, until
I feel I can push it to an end.

From time to time, I try things so as to keep myself up to date (or not too much
out of date !). For this one, in order to get a smooth result for SSLT and
radiosity, I had to take (very) high values.

Friendly yours

Seems like I have been misunderstood: What I meant was, "I don't know
whether /you/ like it, but..." ;)

Your name /is/ familiar to me.

If only there was a flame...

But it looks very good, even without the flame that gives the dark but
romantic light we see. :-)

Thanks for re-sharing.

Hi Brune,

a warm re-welcome back here!

What you're writing about your projects is very interesting. Do you have
any images you can share with us here? I am seriously curious.

@Christoph : sorry for this misundestanding. As I was mostly absent those last
years, you had good reasons not to "know about me"... Glad you know my name, but
I cannot say I am (was) such a skilled and productive POVer as some of the main
people here. I don't know myself if really am back ... Currently rendering
revisited patio_radio : big areas and small crevices = radiosity challenge.

Concerning TerraPOV, I am not currently in situation to give the project another
impulsion. But who knows... All I can show here some examples of cloudscapes I
could save from the disaster. During the last 2 or 3 years, I posted some of
them, when it was relevant for the thread in question.

However, here is one of my favorites (I am afraid I already posted it).

PS: one of my current personal projects is about a full Atkinson cycle engine
.... Not much to do with ray tracing, only for modelization purposes. But I still
am at Proof Of Concept stage.

This one is also acceptable.

Hello Bruno,
Good to see you again posting work and nice SS/radiosity image.

It happens I played with your 2006 elliptical_torus blob macro a couple
weeks ago for the first time! :-)

Bill P.
