I took clipka's advice and reduced the fade distance of the lights to slightly
less than the radius of the firepots and bumped the magnitude up 10x.

With normals turned on in the radiosity block, render time was quite a bit
longer than without.

Render Time:
  Photon Time:      No photons
  Radiosity Time: 1 hours 8 minutes 20 seconds (4100.342 seconds)
              using 12 thread(s) with 24454.399 CPU-seconds total
  Trace Time: 15 hours 42 minutes 56 seconds (56576.468 seconds)
              using 12 thread(s) with 335803.464 CPU-seconds total

I'd like to add some sslt to the materials, but I'm not sure I could handle the
render times for testing...

Normally, I imagine, one would leave textures for after the scene is finished,
but I'm waiting for some ideas on the surroundings to gel.

Comments are always welcome

Regards,
A.D.B.
