I made this model by taking measurements with a caliper from IWM's sculpt of the
Classic BattleTech (tm) Atlas mech.
The model is fully posable, with two versions. The variables are all at the top
of the file (although some of the insignia are in the middle, haven't cleaned
that up yet.) Can designate colors and camoflauge. Lasers fire, but I haven't
done anything with the autocannon or missiles yet.
The museum scene was for an article in The Review of the War College of Goshen,
a fanzine based on a fictional publcation in the BattleTech setting. (available
at http://thereview.affshc.net/)

Seriously, nice work. I've worked on some elementary posing code myself with
some primitive inverse kinesthetics. Although I've had some limited success, I
end each project thinking how I would have done it entirely differently had I
known in the beginning what I learned during the process. I'm always
interested in code examples from those who are kind enough to share. (... and
the hints were flung like manhole covers.)
Best Regards,
Mike C.

Subtle hint acknowledged.

FWIW, I found the way to code and use inverse kinematics with Moray, fairly
easy and straightforward. While the POV code generated by Moray is entirely
correct, it is not as straightforward as it could be however, unfortunately.
Still, a nice exercise.

I still want to do a Mech as well. Mine would be more like Robotech/Macross.
Good work.

Code for the Raider X is also in the scene files section. From the pictures I
remember, you just have to switch the y and x axis values to rotate the guns to
the correct orientation.
