I don't think I connected who you were until just now (gues I didn't read
the sig). When I saw this image here I thought "hey this is ripped off DA"
as it had just recently appeared on my watch list. Anyways good work, look
s nice. It's always nice to know there are more POVers out there on DA.
If there's anyone out there that I am missing, send me a line at

Okay, now I see what you did. Same bit of the pattern for each of the

It worked pretty well. A little up from center, you can see where the seams
don't line up. I actually considered, for a second or two, trying to get
them to line up and then I just thought, "Well, forget that!"

lol, well I think it is quite important to the picture that all the
stars are the same though.

Great pic! The thumbnail looks like a severely rusted sphere, maybe it could
be worth pursuing that track.
Also I wonder how hard it would be to make a CSG version rather than a mesh.

I think Paul Nylander might have done it with CSG, look at:
http://bugman123.com/Math/Math.html
I'm not that smart. :)

Thanks for the link, that site has some really impressive stuff. I haven't
been able to find the code of that particular pic though, but by browsing
the others that do show their code, I believe it's not CSG but some sort of
mesh made from a parametric object.
Looks like the CSG version is still in the air.
