Here is a picture of a room I am working on, and some Wing models I made for
it, posted in response to Ingo's thread about house building:
http://news.povray.org/povray.newusers/thread/%3CXns9817D1F0C8D51seed7%40news.povray.org%3E/

Actually I think Chris or Jaime's method is better, but since I was doing it
too, vanity got the better of me. Comments, criticism welcome. I know the
aliasing on the wood floor is terrible, I'm working on it.

Very nice lighting... has the right ambience to it. I'm not sure the
shadows of the cups should be quite that sharp, and the edges of those
table legs are a bit distracting, but otherwise a good image.

Gorgeous lighting. The table looks great. And the windows & walls look very
good (so good I almost ignored them!).

The floor texture is aliasing & moire-ing horrifically, I suggest you smooth
the pattern a bit or use much higher AA settings. AA would also help the
noisy reflections on the floor. Finally that sofa looks like you've cut a
few corners, literally and metaphorically: the cushion where it's carved to
fit the arm is a round peg in a square hole and overhangs really far, and
there's a lot of hard edges on the sofa which seem odd because there's a few
nice curved ones.

On the whole, sort out the AA and the sofa and it would look pretty
photo-real!

Try focal blur instead of antialiasing.

Great image and really good lighting other that the AA as has already been
mentioned the jug on the table does not look right, the cups and glass ball
seem OK but the jug does not appear to be making contact with the table,
could just be an optical illusion..

Jug - is it my eyes or is it missing a reflection? That would make it look
like it's floating as eyes won't have a reference to say where the table
glass starts

Yes, either the reflection is missing, or it is very faint (because of dark
colour of jug?). If you look carefully there seems to be a very faint
reflection...

Great lighting! The table design is great, and I seem to remember
having seen a real table similar to this one... is it a real design?

About to the "missing" reflection from the black (iron?) pot, I think
it's right: the black parts would not be adding anything to the surface
color... :)

> Actually I think Chris or Jaime's method is better,

I think a mixed method would be better (as long as you don't need
automatic room building): wings3d for the room walls, floor and ceiling,
and POV-Ray macros for the windows, doors, etc..

Forget AA for this kind of scene: use focal blur with a few samples
and then render at twice the final resolution you want, then resize down
with interpolation. I did that for my last interior test and seems to be
what obtains better results:

Personally I'd say that still has too much noise. The reflective legs on
that chair look almost furry! But the only solution I know of is to use more
samples, so more render time...
