I guess this is technically model #3 with the topology and such loosely
based on a silo3d tutorial at
http://www.silo3d.com/Tutorials/User_Tutorials/tony_jung/HTML_files/tjnyc_1.htm
.. You'll need to look in the directory for the rest of the pages - I don't
know where the main page is. Some quick details:
(since I'm too lazy to program some mesh) placed with image_map functions
and modified mainly with noise3d
specular
edited heavily.
front
eyes too small?
That's about it. I was faily happy with the result so far, but once you
stare at something long enough, it starts to look better than it is. So
don't skimp on the constructive criticism or just criticism.

Cute... looks like a rish safed (or spingiray, if he's Pashtun) from
PoVghanistan! Any turban cloth ready for him?

You read my mind! Already had this ready, although it looks pretty bad so
far. Perhaps more like soft-serve ice cream? Basing this on a reference
photo, but it's not worth a comparison so far. Needs a lot more work.

Really?! Incredible... now he almost looks like Mullah Dadullah from
Abdurrahmankhan Kalay, Kandahar province, POVghanistan! Hopefully, he
doesn't object against raytracing as un-Islamic, "mocking God's
creation" or so...

Yes, this "heap-like" turban currently looks more like those worn in
Rajasthan, India... Afghan-style turbans are wound more tightly,
horizontally around the head, but exposing much of the forehead!
Examples:
http://www.cpt.org/afghanistan/afghanart/Afghan%20Refugees%20by%20Same%20Rangen%20-%20big.JPG
http://www.afghanpix.com/images/DSCN5324.jpg
or
http://www.ekokoro.jp/ngo/nicco/AfghanPerm.JPG (a checkered one)
Also, especially in the southern provinces, one often sees two-colored
turban cloths (normally about 1 by 6 meters, but usually folded to 0,5
by 6) with groups of narrow vertical stripes in regular intervals, such
as butterscotch on brown, or grey on black.
Keep up the good work!
See you in Khyberspace!
