Hi,
Well I am finally trying to make a scene that will allow me to brush up an
my textureing skills as they were somewhat primitive to say the least. This
is a part of the scene that I am working on, just a test render but I
thought it looked quite good, all hand coded in POV by me, except the grass
macro by Gilles Tran and a bit of a headstasrt given to me by Jeff Lees
brick texture. I'm mostly happy with the brick texture, the final scene has
much more work to be done and the grass is is a basic plain of grass without
any proper placement, and the camera will move.
All comments and criticisms welcome.
Kev

Looks good so far, for a render ...
IMHO the bricks are to clean .. are there really supposed to be highlights ?
Also if the steps wouldn't be so grainy, they'd look VERY good ...
But I say: The tones of the colors are very well hit. Continue your good work
...

Textures look great but it all looks a bit flat. I'd suggest
that the flatness is down to lighting and camera angle.

Ok I'll dirty up the bricks a bit more, that's the texturing part I'm trying
to work on, how to make them look more worn and used.

Thanks, I'll keep on trying.

Thanks, well I've moved the camera to it's proper place, that was just a
test render for the railings, I've now added a bit of focal blur (thanks
TonyB) to give a bit more depth, hopefully this should help. Plus in this
picture the fill light is in the wrong place which may have had some
detrimental effect.
