This is my first attempt at a POVRay scene. I figured I'd start with my
son's "Peek-A-Blocks" because they look very cool, but are composed of
simple shapes. I'd appreciate any comments, constructive or otherwise. :-)
I'm especially interested in suggestions to improve either lighting or
finish attributes to enhance the realism of the scene. For reference, here
is a side-by-side of the original blocks vs. my blocks:

Very nice scene, and modeling !!!! If you want a more realistic scene, you
could try some focal blur =)

maybe you could try some normal and specular on the wooden base.

Wow. With only a little more work, this could possibly win.

First attempt?! Yikes! That's better than many
been-using-pov-for-years scenes!
Most excellent.

You like that, huh? You're welcome to use it if you like, seeing as it's
part of the POV distribution ;-)
#include "woods.inc"
texture {
T_Wood2
finish {
specular 0.25
roughness 0.1
ambient 0.1
diffuse 0.5
reflection 0.1
}
}
