First, off, thank you, everybody, for your suggestions. I really appreciated
them. :)

Here's the latest version of the logo. I tried everybody's ideas, but only
got around to implementing the following changes:

a) Color-sheme
b) Slight changes in sizes
c) Slight change in rotation of the ellipse, to better mimic a real eye.

Once again, thank you everybody for the suggestions leading to the current
stage of the image.

I'm also providing a black and white version of it, so you can get a gander
at that, and I also added the text "POV-Ray" so you can see what it looks
like with it. It isn't actually part of the logo. It's only there to show
that the logo doesn't need it, it's simply a redundant complement to those
who know it, and it tells first-timers to what program it belongs.

The color scheme really helped. Now it's getting there!

Woohoo! Uh... so what's keeping it from "being there"?

The color scheme on this one is much better, it doesn't look
water-related any more. :-)
It still looks like a hydrogen atom to me though, did you try the
torus-surrounding-sphere idea for the pupil and iris? You could make a
black(or electric blue) pupil, and a blue iris. The iris could be an
outline for the black and white version, maybe with radial lines.

And maybe red lightning emanating from the center, to represent the
bloodshot eyes we have after staying up too late tweaking settings. :-)

Well, "POV" means "Persistence Of Vision"...

Make it an actual eye in the center. And I made you a better BW version
:-)
I would have posted this earlier but I had another crash :-(

I really like this one, it's by far my first choice of all the logos I've
seen so far. I'm not sure what to improve, but I'm sure there's something,
so keep trying :-)

That would make it a little to complex. This is supposed to be simple.

Thank you.

Sounds like it's that time of the month again... to reinstall Windows, that
is!
