I would like to make something with gears, but not sure what.
Three of the gears I've cut from sheet metal (thirteen in total) and
some I've modeled.

Is that in the real world you want to do it?

What restrictions do you have in the physical world? Could you make the
gears fine enough to make a clock?
My first thought is an orrery, which could be a clock as well.

Would you want it to be practical or decorative?
I can see why you are asking for comments. Ideas are not easy to come by.
Great project.

...Clock gears would be to fine, or the project would have to be to big.
The industrial equipment being used is more for power than detail. Drop
off material I have to work with is under 1 foot square each.

I had some site info a while back about a gear construct of the
calendar, but somehow the site disappeared or was renamed. I shall look
further...

You are talking to someone who thinks a 0 ba spanner is a bit on the

I've always liked mobiles and such, so I'll suggest some kind of "kinetic art"
