A few years ago, I posted a render of Sirius (alpha Canis Majoris) that
was based on a Hubble image. I have updated the image with observed
surface temperatures of Sirius A and Sirius B, and made some variations
on theme. The scenes were rendered with UberPOV for glare desaturation.
sirius.jpg is simply the original scene with the updated colors.
sirius-sr.jpg is spectrally rendered using black body curves. The
diffraction is scaled proportionally to the wavelength.
sirius-rgb is rendered in RGB, with the diffraction of the red, green,
and blue channels scaled proportionally to the wavelength of the channel
color.
