Found some Zip disks and I had a parallel drive that was dead. Found a usb
one on Ebay to find out what was on the discs. This is the output of the
file that I was looking for. The fossil was made in Form . The height fields
in Gforge (original lost ) . The drawing is a scan done by me. Most was
modeled in Moray. The pencil was a sample from PV Ray .5 beta (yes Povray
before it was Povray) . I can't believe I kept the file (It is from 1998).
I've been away from Pov for sometime but getting back to it . Just thought I
would share. Please don't laugh it was almost 20 years ago.

You're kidding, right?

This is certainly modern quality.

A very interesting shot (and I guess the modeling needed some time).
It's always nice re-discover old pearls like this.

Very nice indeed. Is this the original rendered image? If so, it is like
Clipka says.

This is a very nice image indeed. A nice model of a snail like creature. I have
some experience with that by my own.

I would guess that it is an old image and not a modern rerendering of an old
scene file. The steam above the cup let me assume this, since it is not very
easy to convert the old halo-syntax into the media-syntax used now. But I'm
unaware of the exact date this switch was taken in POV.

If you find other old treasures on your ZIP-disks feel free to share them.

Best regards,
Michael

I will disappoint you, if you look at the binary file of the image, you
will see the uberpov 3.7 signature, and the date of the render: 2015-02-08.

Please don't shoot me!

That is very interesting, I didn't look at file signatures usually. But dont be
afraid. I'm an active member of a political party in Germany which rejects any
kind of violence. Life is short enough, we must not shorten lives by killing
people.

Best regards,

No need to get shot. The original render is long gone I just have the code.
The code was made in Moray 3.0 for Pov 3.0 . It was re-rendered in 3.7
(might have been uberpov not for sure). The original was April 1998 and Pov
3.0 had Media then. The code rendered without too many problems just had to
change radiosity and file locations and a few other things but not much
else. I just went to check which version and Pov crashed I don't know if
was Pov because I got a bad sector on one of my drives at the same time
(less than a month old ).
