No. I am ok with the textures as such. I am investigating some ideas I
have concerning the generation of height_fields and issues that can
derive from that. The basic ground feature here btw, is /not/ a
height_field but a mesh generated by HF_square. No problem there, though
I want to explore its relationships with real height_fields.

Which reminds me that I need to remind some competitors to upload their
images again.

Thomas, really nice modeling on the Major, the rungs on those impossible ladders
look great, and the aerial perspective is /so/ huge; I love this!

Thank you indeed Robert. The Major was the main challenge indeed as I
wanted to explore the limits of going from one medium (the 2D comic
strip) to 3D ray-tracing. I got an impulse from such work here:
http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?252982-tribute-to-MOEBIUS-II-quot-Major-Grubert-lost-in-desert-B-quot
and I used some details from that image into my own modelling.
I am not yet finished with him. My Poser model needs further development
and it might well be that the Major will appear again in future scenes,
in a role inspired by Moebius' work but diverging from it in my own way :-)

helped me realize why I like this one better. The colors of your previous images
seemed washed out!
